Annual Events
The Chesterfield Historical Society hosts a number of activities each year. Each Easter the historical village is open in conjunction with the Chesterfield Township Easter Bunny Breakfast. The Ste. Claire Voyageurs, 1750 era fur traders have an overnight encampment on the village lawn. History Alive! is a timeline of historical reenactors in period clothing with encampments and displays which tell the story of Macomb County history, from the early days of the fur trade through the war on global terror. Michigan Log Cabin days is the last Saturday in June. The Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society participates in a World War II reenactment of Operation Cobra in July. The event features both an Allied and Axis encampment for public displays with two public battles. The Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society returns in August for a Vietnam era reenactment. Heritage Days is the third Saturday of September and includes pioneer games candle making, rope making, corn grinding, and a scavenger hunt. Each Christmas season the schoolhouse is open in conjunction with Chesterfield Township’s annual tree lighting ceremony on the first weekend in December.

Come see the Ste. A donation of $1 per person or $2 per family is suggested. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

We will host the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society in public demonstration of authentic World War II combat, encampment life and vehicle displays. The event will feature both an Allied & Axis encampment for public displays with two public battles on both days (11 am & 2 pm). Military vehicles will be on display. Story teller presenting "Hello Girls: Women Telephone Operators during World War I" 1 pm Saturday in the schoolhouse. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Entrance fee is a donation of $1 per person or $2 for a family.
